I snuck in on the back end of this challenge. Therese and Christine were so gracious to allow me to hop in. The girls wanted to give everyone a chance to explore two specific stitches, peyote, and herringbone. Now these happen to be my all time favorite stitches, so you'd think I created something over the top, right? Well, if you've read any of my blog posts, you'll see that I'm a wee bit addicted to challenges, so of course I'm always hopping from one deadline to the next! :)
Anyway, enough of that, let's see some pics, shall we??
I have another project I'm working on with a twisted herringbone rope, but I wasn't able to finish it to include it in this challenge, so I whipped up a quick little bracelet for my daughter last night, to show off the versatility of herringbone.
Here are the list of participants. Please go visit and see their creations! Blessings, Shirley

I am so glad you joined the Hop, Shirley!!! You brought a lot to the beading table :-)
The color wash on the bracelet is so beautiful - you must have some painting experience in your background, because that looks like a gorgeous canvas. And the herringbone bracelet is a sweet and cheerful treat.
ReplyDeleteLove the gradual change of color in the peyote cuff - nice when a new design works out. Must try the herringbone twist bracelet for my grand daughters. They are lovely colors! Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You do such lovely work - and I'm right there with the commenters above - your color wash is lovely! The 'confetti' dots sprinkled throughout are a brilliant touch, making it so festive and playful. I love all your little details, like the picot edging.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a fun idea with the bracelet for your daughter! Reminds me how effective simplicity can be. Very nice!
Those are both beautiful. I love the colors in the cuff and how they blend into each other. The little confetti in the white part is a great addition. I really like the bracelet for your daughter. I love that you separated the herringbone into to strands toward the end and gave each a bit of a dangle. That is an awesome clasp.
ReplyDeleteYour peyote cuff is just awesome! I love how you sprinkled it with color. I still need to tackle Herringbone myself, I hope I am as successful with it as you are. They are both lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour peyote cuff makes me think of confetti floating through the air!! It is AWESOME!!! I also love the fun, summery look of the herringbone bracelet that you made for your daughter and the clasp is very cool!
