Playing around

Just playing around with some different things.

My daughter wanted to make a gift for a friend, and we didn't have much time, so I thought we would try making a wrap bracelet, like I've seen everywhere lately. We watched a quick little video on it. Seemed pretty straightforward, so we got all our supplies together.....
Clamped that puppy down to a bead box lid. Chose some beadlettes as my center bead. Kinda like cubes, but a bit longer. Pretty iridescent purply color. Methinks not quite big enough, mm??

Here was my inspiration piece, from a bracelet swap a few months ago.

This is my daughters. We found a very cute orange owl button for her clasp. The leather I was using was just way too big for a kid, so we switched to hemp cord. We were both using embroidery floss to string the beads.

Clearly, beads were too small for project. However, since this was just a learning session for me, I didn't try to find something else.

What? You didn't think I could just leave it like that did you? Of course I wanted to try embellishing it! However, not so thrilled with the yellow....

Here's my daughter's finished piece. We wrapped a soft yellow organza ribbon at the ends, and superglued it down. That was a Three Stooges moment! Anyway, I think hers turned out very cute, and her friend was thrilled. Mine is still in the works.....
Blessings, Shirley
