Not that I'm never beading on Wednesday, just that I usually realize on Thursday that I missed it, again. So, I'm delighted to actually have a new project that I started today, to show off. Last week I received my copy of Beth Stone's book, Bead, Play & Love. I have been devouring it ever since. I decided to start with this lovely stitch. She calls it "Let's do the Twist". She has wonderful inspirational quotes thruout the book. It's a good thing, cause I was ready to throw this puppy in the floor after ripping out for the 4th time. Do you see the smaller sample in the back? Kinda looks like Russian Spiral, doesn't it? Well, it's the very same stitch as the one in the front!
In this sample, the green's are 11's, and the pink's are 8's.
Here, the pink's are 8's and the white is a size 6. I think I started over a total of 7 times before it finally clicked with me. I absolutely love the look of it, but I'm not sure if I'll ever make another once I get done with this one! Since it's giving me such a hard time, I think it will have to be my birthday present to me! Blessings, Shirley
Love it Shirley! I tried it last night, LOL. At one point I got confused and disoriented and tried to bead down the side! No wonder none of the beads where in the right place. Will try it again today, you put me on a mission. Looks great!

ReplyDeleteThat twist is beautiful, Shirley! You need to give yourself more credit...it usually takes me many many many tries with a new stitch, and lots of "throw-outs" too! :-)
